Make it Matter:

A player who purposely learns character, will integrate it in all aspects of life, subsequently making it an easier transition to apply to their sports performance. A player who isn’t late on an assignment in the classroom because it goes against their character, will also not be late to a practice, a defensive assignment or a team meeting. What we do everyday translates into how we perform in our sport.

“The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically.

Intelligence plus character – that is the goal of true education.”

- Martin Luther King Jr.

“In the eyes of most observers, my title is ‘Coach’ Wooden,

but this is not what I would list first on my resume…

I have viewed my primary job as one of educating others: I am a teacher.”

- John Wooden

As a coach, are you making a true effort to give the knowledge necessary for your players, your team, to succeed at all levels? Education is the key.
